The Group for Barrier-Free Life – “Success Knows No Barriers” Event

One of the student groups of our university, the Barrier-Free Life Group organized an event titled “Success Knows No Barriers” in the Main Conference Hall between 14.00 and 18.00 on 02 December 2022. Şerif Ali Mutlu (attorney), Şirince Süzek (officer at Karabağlar Municipality Disability Counseling Center) and Şeyda Melis Türkkahraman (Yaşar University graduate student) participated in order to raise awareness about the rights of people with disabilities, to change perspectives towards disability and to shed light on the problems faced by disabled people.

Students as well as members of academic and administrative units of our university and various guests followed the event. In the break time, Yaşar University Music Department students gave a mini concert to the audience. After the speeches of three valuable speakers, a question-answer session was held. In this session, an interactive discussion on the rights and demands of people with disabilities in Turkey.
